Because I had to 😁

- I may have diagnosed the nitrate problem in T1 & T2. Despite more habitual tank cleaning practices, algae is thriving, and nitrates are high. The newest sign to come into view is the plants which have become stunted, some dying back or breaking right out of the substrate. Some are turning yellow and others are developing spot algae or necrosis. This looks like nutrient lockout. Nutrient lockout occurs when there is a deficiency or imbalance in the tank. Plants essentially just stop eating and begin to die. It's been a long time since I added sub and liq ferts because I had concerns about nitrates and over fertilizing. It may have been the opposite. I added some today and will monitor. Duckweed was added to help with nitrates.
